A quote from Hericulitis in 500 BC, who stated: “For every 100 men, ten are not needed, eighty are nothing but targets, nine are real fighters they make the battle. Ah! But the one, he is a warrior and he brings the others back”. It’s true that there are few men who truly stand for principles that are there own and not borrowed. This does not automatically make them lesser men; they may be, as the ancient spoke of, the real fighters. If one constantly borrows in his life, he becomes as the words you’ve just read, just one of the ten or at the very least one of the eighty.
“Jesus answered, are you saying this on your own initiative, or did others tell you about Me?”
The contemplative soul searches for truth and yearns to speak, live and act upon such words, giving sway to argument on either side; like a pickaxe and sledge searching for the golden ore. When discovered, the spirit of a man is richer for it; like a true vein in the mountain, it has a name, a place and a stake in his future. Ain’t it so
